Improve performance of interaction framework

Description

The interaction framework takes quite long to handle events.

I have implemented a test that performs a defined interaction that can be used to determine how much certain optimizations improve the performance.

The measures taken to improve the performance of the interaction framework did not have the impact I had hoped they would.

I was not able to improve the speed significantly..
