Fast Marching Usage is complicated / broken for 0..1 valued images

Description

when using fast marching 3d on e.g. images with values that range between 0..1
it is hard (impossible) to tune the parameters to get proper results.

e.g. i can provide an image, in which only 3d spheres are segmented around seed points. parameter tuning does only change the diameter of the spheres.
