Steps to reproduce:
- load pic3d
- use add tool to draw in two slices in the sagittal render window round shapes
- activate 3d interpolation
-> donut!

This is a know issue of the 3D interpolation an is due to the underlying algorithm.
However the 3D interpolation is not meant to be used only in one view direction but in different (also rotated) ones.
If you work in solely in one direction, you should use the 2D interpolation.
