kalali reopened T23274: RenderWindowPartActivated is not called in several plugins as "Open".
Generally this is still valid as it was only done in one plugin to show the idea behind it. We need to check if this is still a problem.

Tested it with Ubuntu and Qt 5.7 on an older master. It works.
Recently, due to T24011, Qt 5.10 is needed for successfully display the plugin (independent of the OS)

If it is allready merged I think fixing T19437 gets more important, doesn't it? Currently the new default handling would handle some data sets in an other way then before (e.g. some dynamic data is read incorrectly).

Probably, the dicom folder read implementation was a bit cobbled together and could probably use some more thought.

You have to have a 3D+t AND a 3D image in the datamanager (the second of which is the base image for the segmentation)
