Add local selection handling to the selection-connector-class

Some renaming; changes include modifications from T23749: no base viewer
(view widget) exists anymore; instad the model-view-pair is passed to
the selecton-connector-class. An abstract model and a default subclass
of this model for cusomization is provided and used in the test-plugin.
