The bug was identified when using the Echotrack application. There was a warning message written to the console "tool count is corrupt" and this affects the update rate during echotrack puncture.
To reproduce this error.
Start MITK - Start IGT Tracking ToolBox with two tools connected and start tracking - Start Ultrasound plugin. The warning pops up at some point in between.
Check for change in the buffer size in the function mitkPolhemusInterface :: GetLastFrame() .
