[Measurement] Selecting a shape enforces drawing it / finishing a path not obvious
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When selecting a shape in the Measurement view, all buttons are inactive until the shape is actually drawn.
Would be nice to be able to cancel.

Two checklist testers thought they were stuck while drawing a path. I guess they didn't know that a double-click is necessary to stop drawing a path. We may want to improve UX in that regard.

The Measurement view is quite a historically grown abomination that would greatly benefit from a complete overhaul. Hence, to keep complexity down to a minimum for the upcoming release, I suggest to not implement canceling but instead to add a hint to the GUI on how to finish continuous planar figures.
