franza created this task.

Master students from the Ulm University of Applied Sciences will work on this projekt in my MITK fork at github (https://github.com/Alfred-Franz/MITK). If the project is successful we will possibly integrate the new view into MITK via this tasks. For the current status see the corresponding branch at github.

The final version implemented by the students is available here: https://github.com/Alfred-Franz/MITK/tree/T24520-AblationPlanning

We plan to provide an installer and test data soon.

The project was presented at BVM 2020, all information on the ongoning project (installer, test data, paper, video, etc.) can be found on this Open Science Framework page: https://osf.io/r7f5d/

I'm still wondering if such research applications should be merged into the master. I don't think so, but this can be discussed.

The plugin was developed according to the MITK style guide and rules, however, and can be merged if needed/wanted.
