When saving a scene to the hard disc, all files are first written to a temporary directory by the SceneIO module. Afterwards, I assume after zipping the files, they are copied to the final destination. This behavior could be seen on the console log.

In case of huge data sets, e.g. the CT data of T18509, writing the file twice leads to a very long duration of the saving process.
