Description

We installed MITK 2021.10 (latest release) .When going through the app , we cannot see tools like 2D fast marching , correction and Interpolation for 2D tools and UL Threshold , Otsu , Fast Marching 3D , Region Growing 3D , Watershed , Picking in 3D tools . The documentation shows these features but it does not come up for us in the app.

Anurag created this task.

Hi Anurag and thank you for reporting.

Maybe we need to clarify something:
The MITK Workbench consists of two separate plugins for segmentation, the "Segmentation"-plugin and the "MultiLabel Segmentation" plugin. Both provide a set of 2D- and 3D- tools for manual and (semi-)automatic segmentation.
However, the set of tools differ for both plugins, e.g. the "Segmentation"-plugin consists of the following tools:
https://docs.mitk.org/2021.10/org_mitk_views_segmentation.html#org_mitk_views_segmentationUserManualToolOverview

The "MultiLabel Segmentation"-plugin consists only of the following tools:
https://docs.mitk.org/2021.10/org_mitk_views_multilabelsegmentation.html#org_mitk_views_multilabelsegmentationUserManualLabelEditing
(For the 3D case only "Threshold" is available).

You are right, the documentation still states that a "Correction" tool is available - which is not the case anymore. It has been removed with T28203: [Segmentation] 2-d correction tool does not work anymore and should be removed.

So I guess that maybe you opened the "MultiLabel Segmentation" plugin while reading the documentation of the classic "Segmentation" plugin.

The MITK workbench will go through some major changes this year concerning the (multi label)-segmentation-functionality so we apologize for any inconvenience regarding the state of the plugins.
However, we are happy to hear that you are using MITK and if you would like to discuss some potential improvements of our toolset, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
