Make MITK Workbench more customizable for end-users
Open, NormalPublic

Description

For the upcoming spring release we plan to include more plugins in our official installers that are not of interest for everyone. We want to take this opportunity to make the MITK Workbench more customizable for end-users.

For example, here are a few iterative steps for subtask candidates:

  • Control category/view toolbar visibility through preferences
  • Introduce toolbar visibility presets
  • Collapse hidden categories in View Navigator
  • Combine all existing tool bar preferences into a single preference page (e. g. "Show categories" is on a separate page)
  • Easy access to settings through introductory startup dialog or Welcome page
