reinit of image not working correctly

Description

using the "reinit" function on image in datamanager destroys geometry. global reinit is working.

How was the example_image generated?

After saving as *.nhdr with *.raw file reinit as well as global reinit work fine.
Same for *.nrrd.

Seems as if the problem is related to the generated image file.
