That was a very quick finding. Yes, the current implementation only supports stacked area charts. That means, for now the 'stacked data' option should only be selectable if charty type equals area chart.

UID generation in general
I think UID generation is a common thing, which we should not implement on our own, but instead use a well-tested cross-platform library.

The branch is checked into the master and tested with the image statistics plugin.
The complete API of QmitkChartWidget is not tested in detail, for example more than one labels with different chart type...

You are right, Plot.ly has something similar which is easy to activate.

Do we need the subchart feature? Maybe the interactive zoom option with plotly is sufficient?

I talked to @hentsch and already started the migration.
Supported chart types are:
- line plots
- scatter plots
- bar charts
- area plots
- bubble charts
