uhhm running the command line as it is run by the test as my local user "mmueller"

seems to be a time out problem

i like the layout as proposed by sascha. concerning the hooks: the script currently investigates if a commit touches a path beginning with "Core" to check if this commit must be checked for a modification flag. so by removing CoreUI Qmitk, etc. is not checked anymore.
if Marco agrees i can extend the script so that it uses a *list of path beginnings* instead of just "Core". then all Modules/plugins under special "Core" surveillance are simply put into this list. i dont see any problem here. except that this change must clearly communicated.

this is a line ending problem!!! there are obviously windows line endings which are automatically converted to unix style endings with my git settings. as a result the files are marked as modified and no master forwarding will work anymore. removing the whole git source should work for now. but the CTK repo should not contain any files with windows line endings

tested it again with the current HEAD ExtApp. the widget planes are not shown although they have a data object.

it may be that only helper objects that contain data are really shown. well, then its more or less a matter of definition what should be shown or not

at first sight, the problem is not solved. using gcc (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) 4.4.3 on Ubuntu 10.04, SandboxApp crashes in berryImageDescriptor.cpp line 31, while loading icons for the datamanager:

reopening this issue. there are still problems. when an object is instantiated inside the plugin dll and passed across shared object library borders, dynamic_cast`s wont work, i.e. they have different typeid`s
there are currently two related bugs: T8772 and T9117
